NOFI Oppdrettservice has two service stations in northern Norway. Both are certified in compliance with standards in NYTEK regulations and NS 9415. The stations are located at Skjervøy and at Kvalsund in Hammerfest.
NOFI Oppdrettservice has its head office on Skjervøy and was established in 2009. The main administration for both stations is located here. The station is an environmentally-conscious service station with a net cleaning machine with a capacity of 37 m3. The station has a tower crane with a lifting capacity of 16 tonnes (7.5 tonnes at maximum boom extension). The height under the lifting hook is 42 m. The net workshop has 3 repair lines. The repair lines are fitted with tools and equipment for practical and effective operations. The net impregnator has a volume of 20 m3. The drying system is constructed so that the net is wound and dried in a large drying drum. The drying process is energy-saving and based on an effective dehumidification system. Fully processed seine nets are stored in warehouses (in total 1600 m2) for ongoing delivery to customers.
NOFI Oppdrettservice service station in Kvalsund was opened in the autumn of 2021.
A modern and environmentally-conscious station with practically the same capacity and design as the service station on Skjervøy. The net cleaning machine as a capacity of 52 m3. The station has a tower crane with a lifting capacity of 16 tonnes (7.5 tonnes at maximum boom extension). The height under the lifting hook is 42 m. The net workshop has 3 repair lines. The repair lines are fitted with tools and equipment for practical and effective operations. The net impregnator as a volume of 24 m3. The service station at Kvalsund has a slightly different drying method setup in relation to the station on Skjervøy. The drying system is constructed such that parts of the net hang from a drum under the roof in the drying room. Powerful fans circulate the air through the net and the water is extracted from the air with an effective dehumidification system. This system has a larger capacity and a significantly shorter drying time. The drying process is energy-saving and effective. Fully processed seine nets are stored in the warehouse for ongoing delivery to customers.
At both of the facilities we have keen focus on a good infrastructure, a clear division between clean and contaminated zones and good procedures and routines for relocation of equipment and personnel between zones.
